On the photo pages I posted a few pictures of a 75' Ash that I had cut down last year with a little Echo chainsaw. This saw was new when I first used it on this tree and in my humble opinion the Echo was worth it's weight in gold. Some specs of interest. The model # is CS-440 it has a 45 cc motor and an 18" bar. I know this has probably been discussed to death here, but I am new to the forum and haven't found the right thread to answer this. The labels on the saws are confusing as well. The standard 362 and 362C ignitions are different as the 362C is the m-tronic saw. The part number you have is the correct one for the carb'd 362. They have a very restricted exhaust. Theres a thread on here that Lakeside53 did on modding the 361 muffler. See if you can find it. It's an easy mod and works pretty good. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it’s full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price. But there's no replacement for displacement, and you have to match the saw to the wood. A 562xp would outrun a 395xp in small wood. A 572xp could outrun a 395xp in medium wood. I have done a considerable amount of milling with a Jonsereds920 using a 34in bar. You will definitely need all of the power that 87.9cc can give you. the 920 also wore a 24in bar for felling & most bucking. The balance was ideal with the 24in.Jul 7, 2011. #1. I have used 3 lots of chain over the years - Oregon, Husqvarna, and some unknown chain bagged in plain bags I got a good price on from a dealer in the PNW. A healthy 038 mag will pull a 28" bar and full comp chain in soft wood no problem. Hard wood will slow it down a little, just like any other saw. I run a 28" light bar and RS chain on mine. I measured 160 psi. from the 064 and 155 psi. from the MS 660.The 3410 replaces the 310 while the 3510 replaces the 352. Echo's press release for the 3410 says it has 1.7 horsepower. Echo's Non-US websites list the 3510 as having 2.02 horsepower (converting from Kw). I loosened the bar nut, loosened the chain tensionioning screw, and got the chain tension back to normal. re tightened the bar nut, started her up, and ran fine for a few minutes, then chain went taught again.The main differences are the "dished" piston and the much more restricted muffler of the 261. The clutch is also different - weaker on the 261. That saw family consisted of the 154se, 254, 262xp, 254xp, 257 and 261, in order of introduction. By far the longest lasting model was the 262xp, made from 1989 to the late 2000s.The McCulloch sp125 is just about at its best at 175 psi / depending on which type combustion chamber you have. The Poulan 71A is just about at its best at 135psi and will still run on 90psi. Compression is relative to a lot of factors to that particular engine. I have a promac 800 and it has 180psi.The specs of the Dolmar made Makita EA3200 is humble at 1,35kw/1,81hp and have a dry weight without bar/chain at 4,1kg/9,0lb according to Dolmar, mine came with a 14" guide bar. A thick plate of steel a quarter inch or so will work. With holes drilled out for the crank and bar studs. On mine I have a slot cut in the steel that will fit just about every saw ever made. Now all you need is a two jaw puller. The point of the puller goes on the crank with the jaws pulling your steel.
